when we think of Matt we remember his lovely smile which he was seldom seen without.  He was the same age as our son Jon and they were part of the same group of friends at school.  Both were very keen on, and good at, tennis, swimming, football and most sports.  I have lovely memories of taking them both to Wimbledon and camping overnight on the pavement (no designated filed in those days).  One year we got front row Centre Court seats and we were seen on tv eating our homemade sandwiches.   Many happy holidays were spent with Tricia, Pete, Matt, Jo, Jacqui and Jon. Also in the school holidays I would pile Jacqui, her friend Andrew, Matt and Jon into my car making business calls with the bribe that if they were good we would end up at the Oasis Swimming Pool in Swindon which was quite unusual in those days. With water slides etc.

Our overriding memories of Matt are of a wiry, sporty, happy little boy who always had a sunny temperament.
