My memories of Matt by Bec Bond

Created by Rebecca 3 years ago

I’ve known Matt since i was about 3 years old.
starting at Hanham Play group, then infants school Samuel Whites, then junior school, Hanham Abbotts and finally senior school, Hanham High. Although Matt and i weren’t in each others close friendship groups. I was always fond of him. He was always such a lovely friendly guy with a warm smile and a cheeky sense of humour.
After we left Hanham high we went our separate ways. But ironcally both ended up in Bath. Matt at Bath college and i did a hairdressing apprenticeship. So i would often see him on the bus. We would sit together and chat! Well i would chat and Matt probably wanted to go back too sleep!!! Ha ha ha on a couple of occasions Matt left his bus pass behind! And i would have too contact Pete and Trish to let him know, as this was before the days of everyone having mobile phones!
More recently our paths crossed when Jo and i married into the Bond family. And i would ask and get updates on Matt’s life and achievments.

Then last year our niece Hannah got married to Callum. It was such a lovely day. And we were all so pleased that Matt was well enough too attend. I spent quite a lot of time chatting to Matt. Catching up and talking about old times. And this is where we were introduced to Matt’s lovely family.

Matt will be greatly missed by everyone. Such a lovely, genuine guy.
RIP Matt
lots of love Bec xxx
